NATURAL INGREDIENTS
The natural ingredients used in MAISON VIOLET's creations are sustainably and ethically sourced through responsible partnerships. Numerous initiatives have been implemented to support and sustain farmers' livelihoods. The use of natural ingredients is crucial for MAISON VIOLET, both for the quality of the formulations and to support local economies. SYNTHETIC INGREDIENTS
MAISON VIOLET aims to reconcile its customers with synthetic ingredients. Many brands have intentionally discredited raw materials derived from chemistry, which is both irresponsible and uninformed. Starting from the premise that nature itself is composed of chemical reactions, the real issue lies in the use of responsible and sustainable chemistry. When used correctly, synthesis helps preserve the environment by avoiding activities such as deforestation, overexploitation and depletion of soils, and animal exploitation. Chemistry also plays a role in reducing the carbon footprint associated with certain natural resources.
Ingredient Sourcing
MAISON VIOLET places great importance on ethically sourcing high-quality ingredients. Our partners actively work to ensure fair working conditions and equitable procurement of excellent ingredients from our agricultural partners.
Primary Packaging
MAISON VIOLET's bottle, developed by an Italian partner, has been entirely eco-designed. Refillable and optimized, each bottle has been crafted with 50% less glass, reducing the amount of materials needed and limiting CO2 emissions during transportation.
Secondary Packaging
Since 2022, all components of MAISON VIOLET's secondary packaging have been manufactured in France with a local partner, offering a wide range of eco-designed products. MAISON VIOLET's boxes are made from FSC-certified paper, composed of 40% recycled fibers.
Soap
By developing its soap in solid form, MAISON VIOLET avoids the use of unnecessary plastic packaging that is harmful to the environment. The bars are perfectly protected by sustainably sourced, recyclable, and FSC-certified paper.
To put it in perspective, every year in France, 186 million shower gel bottles are sold. According to ADEME (the French Environment and Energy Management Agency), including shampoos, they generate 16,000 tonnes of packaging per year, of which only 40% will be recycled.
Furthermore, the overexploitation of palm oil is devastating to the environment. Therefore, MAISON VIOLET uses coconut and sunflower oils as the base for its soap.
Located in Lorraine, MAISON VIOLET's manufacturer sources sunflower oil from French fields. This choice significantly reduces the carbon footprint associated with transportation.
Manufacturing
It is essential for MAISON VIOLET to entrust the assembly of its products to a French packaging partner. This partner is ISO 22716:2008 certified, meaning they adhere to good manufacturing practice standards.
